What is the onboarding appointment?

Your onboarding appointment is an Interview with one of the Flexy worker assessment team. The aim of the appointment is to verify your Right to Work in the UK. We also use this appointment to assess suitability for the job roles available on our app, so you should treat this like you would any other job interview. The appointment should last no more than 15 minutes. At present, due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, we are conducting onboarding appointments via video rather than face-to-face.

Please note we will not be able to complete your onboarding appointment if you are under the age of 18 (due to fact that some of our jobs involve the serving of alcohol), or if you have a restriction on your weekly working hours (commonly seen on Tier 4 student visas).

What documents do I need to have on me?

You will need to be in possession of your original Right to Work document(s) as detailed in the section below. Of course, any identification provided should match the details on your Flexy profile.

What documents do I need to provide to prove my right to work in the UK?

When booking your appointment in the app, you are presented with 3 options to choose from:

"UK passport" (must have more than 6 months until expiry) - you will be asked to upload a clear image of the photo page in your passport.

"UK Birth Certificate" - You must upload a photo of your birth certificate, Photo ID (such as driving licence), and Proof of your National Insurance number. A couple of examples of acceptable Proof of National Insurance Number that you can upload are:

  • Your National Insurance card

  • Any government issued letter stating your National Insurance Number

"Other Visa"

- If you select this option, you'll be asked to choose either:

  • EU Settled Status (You will be asked to provide a share-code so that we can check your status online)

  • EU Pre-settled status (You will be asked to provide a share-code so that we can check your status online)

  • Indefinite Leave to remain (You will be asked to upload a photo of your Residence Permit/Visa or provide a share code so that we can check your status online)

  • Other Visa (You will be asked to upload a photo of your Visa, or provide a share code so that we can check your status online)

Important: The app will guide you through the process of uploading your documents. If you do not upload the required documents, your appointment may be cancelled.

How do I book an appointment?

You book your appointment by following the steps in the app. You'll be asked to upload a photo of your Right to Work document as part of the booking process. Please ensure that the photo you upload is clear, with all information visible and readable. Please also ensue that all edges of the document are showing, so that you do not accidentally cut off any of the details. If your document does not meet these requirements, it will be rejected.

What if I am late for my appointment?

If you're late to your appointment, our checker may not be able to honour the appointment and you will have to wait until another appointment becomes available. The checkers have a tight schedule, and appointments get booked very quickly. Lateness to your appointment (whether virtual or in-person) may give our checkers a negative indication of your reliability so please ensure you're on time.

What happens after my appointment?

Once your onboarding appointment has been completed, your application to join the Flexy community will be assessed by head office and if successful, your profile will be approved and fully activated, usually within 2 working days. You’ll receive a notification to let you know. Once approved, your profile will be visible to Hirers, so you’ll need to ensure you have added a professional looking profile photo & personal statement to your worker account.

What should I do if I can't see any checkpoints near me?

This means that we do not currently have checkpoints available in your area - we are working on expanding checkpoints nationwide, so stay tuned!

What do I do if there are no appointments available?

We’re really sorry if you find that you have a short wait for your appointment. Please just skip ahead in the in-app diary to view future appointments. If you cannot find available appointments, you should be able to add yourself to the waitlist in that location, so that you can be notified when appointments do become available.
