What does opting out of the 48h working week mean?
Due to the working time regulations, you should not be working more than 48 hours a week, averaged over a period of 17 weeks. If you opt out of the 48h working week, this means that you can book and complete as many hours as you wish per week, of course not including the appropriate rest breaks you are required to take between shifts.
What happens if I don’t opt out of the 48h working week?
If you do not opt out of the 48h working week, we will have to monitor your shift bookings closely to ensure you do not exceed the legal limit. This may result in your shifts being cancelled if you are close to going over the legal limit.
Can I change my mind?
If you have opted out and wish to rescind this, you will need to give us at least 3 months written notice of termination. If you do not opt out now, but you want to opt out in the future, you will need to let us know via the ‘Contact Flexy’ section in your Flexy app (this is accessible via the main menu).
